This was a short exercise that explored the use of photos to create unique textures. I aimed to take the theme of cat-related photographs that I personally collected, convert them to seamless textures, and apply them to a 3d model of a PlayStation 4 controller, which I modeled. The game controller is widely customized throughout the market, but the idea of attributing it with a cat-related theme intrigued me. The method of applying textures took several iterations testing them in different elements, scales, and even superimposing them on top of each other to get unique effects. Coordination of the textures focused on differentiating the handles and main body from the different kinds of buttons, controls, and ports. The body includes the seam that is part of the actual controller and used in this project to distinguish the bottom from the top. Ultimately, this custom controller has acquired a more natural, earthy look, which is quite different than its native man-made look.
